Camp Basics
What makes SAC unique?+
SAC combines classic overnight camp with Sephardic Jewish tradition. Campers get friendship, sports, outdoor adventure, creativity, prayer, Shabbat, and a joyful sense of heritage in one summer community.
Who attends SAC?+
Many campers are from Washington State, and SAC also draws families from across the United States, Canada, Israel, and beyond.
What ages does SAC serve?+
Summer 2026 programs serve campers entering 3rd through 11th grade, including the one-week session, full session, CIT, and Avodah.
How long is camp?+
For Summer 2026, the full session runs June 21 - July 5, the one-week session runs June 21 - June 28, and CIT and Avodah follow the full-session dates.

Is SAC a religious camp?+
Yes. SAC is an independent Jewish nonprofit with historical ties to Seattle's Sephardic community, including Sephardic Bikur Holim and Congregation Ezra Bessaroth. Prayer, Shabbat, kosher food, and Sephardic tradition are part of camp life.
Is the food kosher?+
Yes. Meals are certified kosher and prepared for camp under kosher supervision.
Do campers need to be Sephardic?+
No. SAC centers Sephardic tradition, music, food, and community, and welcomes Jewish campers from a range of backgrounds.
Cabins, Staff & Safety
What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?+
The typical ratio is 4-6 campers for every counselor.
How are campers assigned to bunks?+
Campers are grouped first by gender and then by age or grade. Exact bunk makeup can vary from year to year.
Who works at camp?+
SAC staff include experienced counselors, many of whom are former campers, plus program specialists and certified activity staff for areas like swimming, boating, archery, arts, and prayer.
What medical support is available?+
Camp has a clinic and trained medical staff on site. In an emergency, staff will call 911 and/or bring a camper to the nearest appropriate medical facility.
Life At Camp
How do families communicate with campers?+
Families can send traditional letters, and parent communication details are shared through the Parent Information Handbook and CampInTouch tools.
Do campers leave camp for trips?+
Field trips vary by year. Some off-site trips may be planned, but camp also offers many activities and amenities on site.
What if my child has no overnight camp experience?+
First-time campers are common. Staff help campers settle in, make friends, join activities, and feel comfortable away from home.
