Esther Chiprut CIT Scholarship Fund
The Esther Chiprut CIT Leadership Scholarship program for Sephardic Adventure Camp was started by the family of Esther E. Chiprut in her memory. This scholarship will be awarded to campers attending SAC’s counselor-in-training program, where they will learn valuable leadership skills.
Esther first attended SAC in 1954, before it was called SAC. Although that early version of SAC only lasted for three days and was located on Vashon Island, it made a great impression on Esther. She attended with others who became life-long friends, including Esther Rae Scharhon Caplan, Esther Kay Scharhon Morhaime, Vicky Levy, Marlene Touriel Gumbiner, Esther Calvo Maimon, Lynette Benaltabe, Marsha Amon Krivosha, along with friends Victor Hasson, Mike DeLeon, Joey Israel, Jack Babani, Joe Adatto, along with so many others who were loved by Esther throughout her life.
They loved campfires, singing “Ya Comimos” after meals, hula hoop contests, and horseback riding. Their counselors were Esther Lee Scharhon Eisenstein and Susann Brown.
We invite you to help us fund this important scholarship program in Esther’s memory. We would appreciate your support in ensuring that kids have the same special camp experience Esther had.
