Top 10 Favorite Things about the SAC Family Shabbaton

We polled our participants right after our recent SAC Family Shabbaton in Seattle and this is what they said:

10.  All the Fun Kids’ Activities such as the Scavenger Hunt and Coca en la Boca with Haham Greenberg.

9.  The Diverse Mix of Participants, of all ages!  From campers to alumni, parents to grandparents and community members all in the mix together!

8.  Campers and Staff Led Shabbat Services.  An impressive line up of readers and speakers!  Tomorrow’s future Sephardic leaders!  Amen!

7.  All the Out-of-Town Guests made it feel very special!  Attendees joined us from Vancouver BC, Vancouver Island, Portland, Los Angeles, and Ohio plus staff members from New York!

6.  The Energy of the Kiddush Lunch. Very well attended. Delicious lunch by Dalia Amon and beautifully decorated cake by Beloria Levy.

5.  The Large Turn-out! All the people greatly enhanced attendance at our two Sephardic Synagogues, Ezra Bessaroth and Sephardic Bikur Holim!

4.   The camp-like atmosphere of The Friday Night Dinner.  Thank you Danny Jassen! The chicken was delicious!  So many yummy salads!  And the hamsa cookies did not get past us!

3. The Mishna Game after lunch! So engaging!  All ages of participants!   Thank you SAC staff members for coordinating this wonderful program!

2.  Survey says….Sephardic Family Feud ….It was hilarious!  The Braggas against the Prassafucis!  Who won anyway?  Thank you, participants, and mostly “Munchas Grasyas” to our game show host, our own Simon Amiel!

Finally, we get to the number one favorite thing about our Shabbaton (btw – it was hands down)…

1.  Hanging Out with our Friends!  What more can we say about this one?

Honorable mention: Didn’t make the list but we thought it worthy to mention the weather:  No rain!  Partly sunny!

Thanks to all our participants and staff members that joined us from near and far to make our weekend so special!  It was a memory maker!

Stay tuned for 2020 Shabbaton dates.
